In the virtuoso and safe hands of Alfredo Despaigne, the captain of the team, was placed this Thursday the national flag that the Cuba team will carry in all the scenarios where it competes during the 4th World Baseball Classic, between the 6th and the 22nd of March.

At the ceremony, held at the base of the monument to José Martí and chaired by the president of the Cuban Olympic Committee, José Ramón Fernández, and Inder's president, Antonio Becali- Despaigne received the patriotic banner along with outfielder Carlos Benítez and pitcher Lázaro Blanco, both included in the All Stars of the last Caribbean Series.

Receiver Frank Camilo Morejón read the commitment to play to the last breath for the victory and inspired by the glories of Cuban sport.

Inder's first vice-president, Roberto León Richard, urged the group led by Carlos Martí to defend the flag with gallantry and decorum. The Cuban team is on a preparatory tour of Asia, where they must play eleven matches before making their debut on March 7 in the 4th Classic against Japan at the Tokyo Dome stadium in the Japanese capital. It is the group where China and Australia will also compete.
