Cuban cyclist Arlenis Sierra mounted for the second time on the podium of the Pan American Track Championships when on Saturday she came second in the points race scoring 26 points, and was only beaten, as in the previous version of the contest, by Canadian Jasmin Glaesser (37).

Through social networks, Arlenis remarked to this writer that she was happy but not satisfied with the caption. "I always want gold. I finished very tired, maybe it´s because of lack of training" she explained.

Two days earlier, the current best Cuban racer had won the bronze medal in the scratch.

At press time, Marlies Mejías was ahead of the front runners in the first dayy of the omnium, winning the  pursuit and scratch and second in the specialty of elimination. Today this gruelling test concludes. On Wednesday, she had won the silver medal in the individual pursuit.
