With an artistic-literary gala, at the recreational cultural center of Havana´s National Association of Blind People (ANCI) the activities of the Cuban delegation to take place in the Paralympic Games Rio de Janeiro 2016 initiated this Tuesday, according to a report by the Cuban News Agency (ACN).

 

Member of ANCI´s National Direction Osmani Esquivel said the ceremony will take place at the Revolution Square and the flag will be received by Omara Durand. The Cuban delegation will be represented by 20 Paralympic athletes, half of them belong to ANCI, and the rest to the National Association of Physical Limited (ACLIFIM) who will compete in athletics, swimming, judo, weightlifting and table tennis in wheelchair.

 

The departure to Rio is scheduled for August 30, while the Cuban flag will be hoisted in that city on September 3.
