The Malecón will once again host events organized by the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba from 11:00 am on Sunday, June 26.
Taking part in the activity are boats from the Association of Yacht and Cruisers Men of Texas, from China, and members of the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba.
From that time, from the coastal area of the National Hotel a formation of motor yachts will make a Nautical Parade that will lead to the interior of the bay of Havana to turn in front of the statue of Christ. As this happens, the habaneros present on the forecourt of the Punta and the Caleta de San Lázaro, can enjoy exhibitions of nautical skiing and jet skis.
Parallel to these activities, a group of sailing boats will gather north of the Castillo del Morro, where at approximately between 12:00 and 12:30 will be given the start signal of the Torreón de la Chorrera Regatta, which it will move parallel to the boardwalk to the mouth of the Almendares so that all present will have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacle of the multi-coloured sails in the sea breeze.
There is no history of a sailing race between the Morro Castle in Havana and the Tower of Chorrera. It has been the purpose of this event to be enjoyed virtually from anywhere on the Havana seawall.
The Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba is making these two events to add them to the Nautical Parade on June 11 in salute to the Declaration of Havana as a Wonder City of the World.
