MANAGUA - Representatives of the 22 delegations attending the 23rd Sao Paulo Forum paid tribute to Nicaraguan heroAugusto César Sandino and to the founders of the SandinistaNationalLiberation Front, PL reported.

The participants in the meeting of the Latin American leftwing paid a floral tribute to commandersCarlos Fonseca Amador, Tomás Borge and colonel Santos López in the mausoleum where their remains are buried, as well as in the monument to the Free Men General.

It´s a great honor to be here and to pay tribute as part of Sao Paulo Forum, said the executive secretary of the mechanismMónica Valente.

For his part, the Puerto Rican independentist Óscar López Rivera extolled the bravery and the sacrifice of the men who achieved the liberation of Nicaragua from Somoza´s dictatorship and became an example for the revolutionary processes of the region and the world.

“We have to keep their legacy alive in our hearts and in our voices. It´s quite important for the future, especially for the youth. The youth is learning from them”, the Puerto Rican leader said.

López Rivera took part in the Meeting of the Youth, that day together with that on women and the parliamentarians.

Representatives of the Cuban youth like second secretary of the National Committee of Cuba´s Communist League, were at the meeting, while other members of the Cuban delegation took part in the Media Workshop. The indigenous peoples, the afrodescendants, the anticolonialist struggle and the art and culture were topics of other meetings.

The 23rd Sao Paulo Forum opened in Managua last Sunday, with the turnout of more than 300 delegates from 32 countries, who paid tribute to Fidel and Che in the opening day and will accompany the activities for the 38th anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution, PL recalled.
