In the meeting, the Cuban and U.S delegations, presided over by the Director General for the U.S Division of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, Josefina Vidal Ferreiro and the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the U. S Department of State Edward Alex Lee, respectively, will make a revision of the agenda of topics that was agreed during the first meeting of the Commission, held on September 11, 2015 in Havana; the results achieved during the current months, and the complex affairs that are pending for solution between both countries, including the lifting of the blockade.
The Bilateral Commission will define the new steps that both parties will follow in the next few months as part of the process for the normalization of relations, like possible actions for mutual benefit, technical meetings in areas of mutual interest, exchanges on topics of bilateral and multilateral interest, high level visits, among others.
The first meeting of the bilateral talks on the application and fulfillment of the law between governmental agencies of both countries, directed to increase cooperation in those areas, will take place the day before the meeting of the Bilateral Commission, on November 9, in Washington, Cubaminrex reported.
