Army General Raul Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, held official talks Saturday with His Excellency Baron Divavesi Waqa, President, Foreign Minister and Minister of Public Administration, Interior and Climate Change of the Republic Nauru, who is on an official visit to Cuba.

During the friendly meeting, the two leaders talked about the current state of bilateral relations and cooperation as well as the common interest in further developing them. They also discussed other international issues, particularly matters related to the devastating impact that climate change has on the Developing Small Island States.

The distinguished visitor was accompanied by the Honourable Aaron Cook, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Environment, and the Honourable Milton Dube, Member of Parliament.

On the Cuban side were Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and Marcelino Medina, Acting Foreign Minister.
