China Commemorates Historic Date

The 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people in the Anti-Fascist World War was celebrated in Beijing with a majestic military parade

BEIJING, September 3. — China celebrated a majestic military parade in Beijing on the occasion of the commemoration of the victory of the Chinese people in the Anti-Fascist World War. Thus, the ceremony gathered together around the Tiananmen Square nearly 12,000 military men, veterans and their families. 

At the time of going to press, the Chinese President Xi Jinping reported on this event and greeted the Chinese people and personalities invited to the parade, among them the Cuban First Vice-President of the Councils of State and Ministers Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, who led the Cuban delegation that attended the celebration.
The military parade counted on the participation of 17 foreign units and 10 Chinese groups that included units for land attack, air defense and anti-aircraft missiles or air forces. Military men from Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Afghanistan, Belorussia, Russia, Cambodia, Egypt, Fiji, Kazajstan, Kirgizstan, Laos, Mongolia, Pakistan, Serbia, Tajikistan and Vanuatu, Xinhua reported.
Several Head of States, like the Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the Russian President Vladimir Putin, among others, were invited to the festivities.
