The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Morad Wahba, described the work of the Cuban medical brigade in Haiti as excellent, reports Prensa Latina.
Wahba said such work is widely recognized at the highest level of the United Nations, which on several occasions has praised the meritorious efforts of the Health staff in Haiti in combating the cholera epidemic and more recently in Africa in the fight against Ebola.
In a note on the Cubaminrex site, the official expressed his interest in maintaining the close cooperative relationship with the Cuban organizations and institutions to mitigate the effects that future natural disasters could cause and epidemics in Haiti.
The leadership of the Cuban medical brigade, said is the text, is invited permanently to the meetings of the Sectorial Working Groups that are held periodically in the Ministry of Public Health, where the epidemiological situation of the country is analysed.
