An unprecedented event will take place this Wednesday at 9:00 pm The scenario of the Avellaneda Hall of the National Theatre will become Cocos Island, to host a unique confrontation between characters of classic tales. The Circuba Festival, in its 14th edition, will raise its curtains with the gala La Colmenita goes to the circus, which will join for the first time, members of the children's theatre company and circus artists.
The fight will star gangs of mambises and coconut workers, commanded by Elpidio Valdés and Captain Plin, respectively. Both sides will challenge with their numbers of circus dreams, which will be borne by the artists of the Havana Company, as announced at a press conference by Carlos Alberto «Tin» Creamata and Germán Muñoz, who assume the artistic direction and staging of the show.
In this way, the viewer can enjoy varieties like the Swiss acrobatics, skaters, aerial bamboo, Russian bar, pole dancing, acrobatic and scale canvas areas, while the orchestra accompany the Colmenita in interpretation acts with live-liked musical themes.
In the words of «Tin» Cremata, «this will be a dreamed of show because the children of La Colmenita are fans of the circus. This work has been a wonderful experience that allowed us to meet very simple and talented people. It was a beautiful adventure and one of the most beautiful gifts of life. »

With a new audio system and lights, square track, wooden stage, innovative designed stands with better visibility and air conditioning- one certainly awaited this happy news by both the public and the artists-the revamped space will also host concerts by artists from the catalogue of EGREM, functions by the Humour Promotion Centre, audio-visual performances and presentations by La Colmenita.
The wonders of the circus will not be just a privilege of Havana, for at the conclusion of the festival features extend to the rest of the country, from July 16 to September 7, 2015 the Circuba tour travels around Cuba, and will attend more than 14 cities in nine provinces. As part of the tour, a special function will be held at the Heredia Theater of Santiago city, to join the celebrations for the 500th anniversary of the founding of this eastern city.
In the expedition will also be incorporated for the first time artists from the United States; they will be joined by other professionals from Germany, Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia.
Circuba 2015 has other surprises. One is the redesign of the awards, inspired by the emblematic figure of Roberto Muñoz, a Cuban circus performer, renowned for being the first to balance on one finger. Another initiative is the opportunity to vote for the most popular number via a wireless network available in the headquarters.
This 14th edition will have a special moment on the 11th, at 8.30 pm, in the Trompoloco, with a tribute to Charles Chaplin by his son Eugene, artistic director of Circus Nock, who will attend the event jury.
The dialogue will not lack other art forms. Two exhibitions will be inaugurated: The circus, inside and outside the tent, a photographic exhibition of Spaniard Josep Guindo and Cuban Yailín Alfaro; and A well-kept secret., by teachers and students of the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts, with the special participation of the artisan Lisandra Landestoy
With trapeze, belts and aerial networking, pulses, hula hoops, tightrope acrobatic swinging, contortions and slapstick Circuba returns to again make us dream with open eyes.
