By the end of 2016, about 447 contracts were signed between wholesale enterprises and non-agricultural cooperatives, as part of the policies approved by the Domestic Trade Ministry (MINCIN) for the rearrangement of this type of trade in the country.
Minister of this sector Mary Blanca Ortega in a dialogue with press executives assured that in this new context of the domestic economy, which includes the guarantee of the non-state management, the connections with import concentrating enterprises with the main wholesale trade enterprises was conceived, so that they have an inventory level for the economy, including the non-agricultural cooperatives.
She also said ways and methods for the supply and the direct connection of producers and wholesale trade enterprises with non-agricultural cooperatives and self employees under the status of lessors were approved for catering and services stemming from the state enterprise system.
Chief among them over 400 contracts signed by non-agricultural cooperatives, the ones established with wholesale trade enterprises CIMEX (96), COPEXTEL (87), AUSA (75) and Gran Comercial (72), among others.
As part of these efforts, which respond to the Social-Economic Policy Guidelines of the Party and the Revolution aimed at supplying these new management methods, MINCIN has also concentrated the trade of large format products on retail establishments of CIMEX and TRD Caribe, as the country gets ready to create a wholesale market for the non-state sector which prevents the shortage of supplies in the retail network.
