Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, vice-president of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Economy and Planning, said on Thursday that he was pleased with the contacts with the Russian side in the context of the intergovernmental commission between the two countries, particularly since the official meeting in Havana of the presidents Raul Castro and Vladimir Putin, in July 2014.
In the presence of the Russian vice-president, Dimitri Rogozin, who travelled at the head of a large delegation from that country, Cabrisas stressed that the dialogue has allowed specific and concrete progress in several areas, which was then endorsed by reports in the protocol room of the Ministry of Overseas Trade and Foreign Investment (Mincex) by the heads of the working groups.
The banking and financial sectors, oil, gas, electricity generation and commercial exchanges are included among the collaboration projects that, at different levels of concreteness, were discussed by the two parties in the fourteenth session of the Cuba-Russia intergovernmental commission, in to put their results on even higher rungs.
The current session of the commission will leave new agreements that will continue the reflection, in practice, of the manifest will of Cuba and Russia to strengthen their already solid links.
On Thursday, in the context of the first Cuba-Russia Scientific-Technical Exchange Workshop, a collaboration protocol was signed in astronomy and cosmos, medicine, agriculture, employment of natural resources, nuclear energy and nanotechnology.
