The 34th edition of the Fair of Havana became a forum for supporting Cuba and condemning the blockade for the effects that this causes in other countries because of its extraterritorial character, Rodrigo Malmierca, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) said during the closing ceremony yesterday at the Palace of Conventions.
With the participation of companies and business men and women from more than 70 nations, FIHAV-2016 also "grew as an event, fulfilled its role and consolidated results; was an authentic expression of the link between our countries, "he said.
Malmierca highlighted the relations between Cuba and Venezuela, whose pavillion in Expocuba received one of the awards given the day before. Relations with the sister Bolivarian Republic are very high, excellent, he said.
He noted the good progress of economic ties with China and Russia, as well as Spain –which had the largest number of exhibitors and products-, France and Caribbean nations, among others.
The MINCEX minister also highlighted the presence of exhibitors from the United States and Puerto Rico, who showed –just with their presence - their opposition to the laws applied against Cuba and expressed their full support for the removal of the blockade.
At the awards ceremony a Gold Medal, awards and mentions were awarded Cuban, German, Belgian, Chinese, Korean and Spanish products, basically.
The 2016 edition of the Exportable Goods and Services was presented during the last day of the fair as an excellent complement to the Commercial Directory of the Republic of Cuba, presented during last year.
Presented by the Centre for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (ProCuba) it is a reference document for those interested in trade with our country.
The Offer works as a promotional product for major export items and combines traditional products with services such as tourism and medical. The proposal includes so far a total of 16 sectors, but it is an experience with the possibility of including each year new goods and companies.
