CONSOLACIÓN DEL SUR, Pinar del Río. — The beginning of the school year in every school and the teacher – family - community interaction with students is the most important, Education Minister Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella said in the opening of the mixed center René Anillo Capote, in the Entronque de Herradura district of this Pinar del Rio’s municipality.
The opening act for the 2016-2017 school year staged at this school was also attended by member of the CCP politburo and First Vice-president of the Councils of State and Ministers Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, who exchanged with pupils and teachers of the new educational center.
Díaz-Canel was interested in the Pa’ que te eduques multimedia package, the pupils’ preparation, the conditions of the school’s different locals, the educational upgrading and the promotion of reading.
On behalf of the students, high-schooler Camila Rodríguez Echevarría said she was delighted for having such a beautiful school, whose work has to be materialized with the joint effort of teachers, parents and the community, for the comprehensive education of the new generations.
Ninth grader Dayliana Valles Barreto expressed gratitude for the construction of the center, since she had to move eight kilometers away to get to her other school. Yanelys Morejón, a pupil’s mother, said to be happy for the conditions created and the proximity of the new school to home.
The first grounds for the building of the center were removed four years ago, and it was named after a young revolutionary who was a friend of FEU Secretary José Antonio Echeverría, said school principal Nelson González Betancourt.
