The Rector of the University of Havana Gustavo Cobreiro presided over the ceremony giving the university degree diploma to 111 doctors of Specific Sciences and two Doctors in Science, who had defended their theses at the University of Havana in 2015. «Science has always been parallel to the great historical challenge that the nation demands, its life, its purposes, its dreams, its current and future hopes. So this graduation is also the continuity of the work of the Revolution. This graduate figure ranks as the highest in the last ten years and one of the largest in the history of our institution, » the rector highlighted.
Among graduates, there are 38 professors and researchers from the University of Havana; others belong to several centers of Higher Education or they work in different institutions, and 22 are professionals from Ecuador, Angola, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and Iran.
On behalf of the graduates, the professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Havana Dr. Orisell Richard Martinez said that doing science in the current Cuba involves engaging in a complex updating system for achieving that Socialism which we all aspire to, with a high responsibility to fulfill the demands of this time.
For his part, Dr. Mauro Toscanini Segale from Ecuador explained on behalf of foreign graduates, that the quality, the rigor, the history and values of the University of Havana are now part of their training, so they will carry those values forward in the professional performance in their respective countries.
