Recreational festivals and of children´s literature, days of productive work and tasks of social impact, delivery of stimuli to the most outstanding, food fairs, concerts, workshops, discussions, pioneer explorers exhibitions, awards competitions ... that children and young people can enjoy from this April 1st., as a prelude to the 55th and 54th anniversary of the José Martí Pioneer Organization (OPJM) and the Union of Young Communists (UJC), respectively.
This was reported on Thursday by members of the National Bureau of the UJC during a press conference, when it was also said that the festivities this April 4 will be especially dedicated to the 90th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, whose thoughts and actions continue to accompany the new generations in all their challenges.
Although there are core activities, Yuniasky Crespo Baquero, first secretary of the National Committee of the UJC, said that each territory and study or work centre is called on to organize their own initiatives, depending on the characteristics and tastes of its pioneers and youth; this will make various celebrations.
Among the specific activities, Pedro Ortega Hernandez, an official of the National Committee of the youth organization, said on1st. April, the workshop Fidel and youth policies will meet as part of the 2nd International Congress of Researchers on Youth-, a youth camp in Havana and traditional space La pupila asombrada. The next day, social impact tasks and activities in paediatric hospitals and children's homes without family protection will be developed.
The mega event Jumping with joy will be held on the 3rd in Matanzas, as well as a festival for rumberos in Guantanamo. Similarly, the capital will host from early and well into the evening, various celebrations on the Malecon, from 23rd Street to the José Martí Anti-Imperialist Tribune, for the great 55th anniversary festival of the OPJM.
Also on the 3rd the campaign will be presented for the 55th anniversary of the UJC.
For the OPJM and the UJC birthday, Camagüey will host the central activities, in recognition of its successful work over the last two years in the Pioneers.
