SANTA CLARA, Villa Clara.- With the launch of Raul Castro, a man in Revolution, its author, Nikolai Sergeyevich Leonov, paid tribute to Commander Ernesto Che Guevara in the Sculptural Complex named after him in this city, reported the Agency Cubana de Noticias (ACN).
After laying a wreath at the Memorial where the remains of the Heroic Guerrilla and his companions fallen in Bolivia, the presentation of the work proceeded, which was led by Abel Prieto, advisor to the President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Army General Raul Castro.
Prieto Jimenez stressed the pleasantness and closeness to the reality of the text, which refers to the way in which Raul and Nikolai met, the friendship that developed between them and the role played by the Cuban revolutionary, from very young, in the fight for freedom of the country and in defence of their conquests.
He noted that the book reflects very accurately the personality of Raul, his characteristics and sense of brotherhood with his fellow fighters before and after the Moncada.
He also highlighted concerns about the fairness in the treatment of farmers who contributed the Rebel Army, his concern for the organization, the country's institutions and fidelity to the leader of the Revolution.
Nikolai Sergeyevich told reporters he felt great satisfaction in being able to pay tribute to Commander Guevara at the place where his remains rest, and in the territory under his command which helped defeat the regime of tyranny in 1958, and win the full freedom of Cubans.
He recalled the time when he was his partner as an interpreter and the characteristics of Che in fulfilling tasks.
Julio Lima Corzo, member of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in Villa Clara, and Jorgelina Pestana, president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power attended the presentation. Political leaders and government agencies in the territory, representatives of mass organizations and other guests also participated.
