In order to increasingly consolidating the safeguarding of the country in case of a possible armed aggression, this month, across the country the preparations for the beginning of Defense Preparedness 2016 are being developed. It begins 1st. February and this time it will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the landing of the Granma yacht expedition and the Revolutionary Armed Forces Day, December 2.
"These activities are devoted to methodological training of commanders and officers in the management and underwriting of the combat training of staff, essentially, in those areas we need to improve in line with the lessons learned," explained Colonel Jose Angel Rodriguez Perez, chief of staff of the Great Tank Unit of the Combative Glory in the Rescue of Sanguily, Antonio Maceo Order.
Also, he said, the current year will allow us to improve the habits and skills that have been achieved during previous periods. "We´re talking about all the core subjects: political preparation, physical, infantry, shooting, tactics, the running and all the specialties of each of them, such as communications, engineering ..." he said.
The young first lieutenant Raul Rodriguez Menendez, Deputy Chief of Staff, said that in this concentration the officers are able to improve the methodological instruction process for NCOs and soldiers, in order to obtain better results during the period of instruction.
"From my responsibility I´m able to acquire all the accumulated experiences in controls and training made and in tactical exercises and manoeuvres in order to fulfil my duties with a higher quality," he said.
He said the NCOs and soldiers also participate in demonstrations of how the activities of combat readiness must be met in 2016. "This allows soldiers to acquire that knowledge, implement it and be prepared for activities that they are going to face in this new training period that begins in February, "he concluded.Translated by ESTI
