ARTEMISA.- Miguel Diaz-Canel, member of the Political Bureau and first vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers, called the process of revival of the centre of the capital city of Artemisa positive, with the execution of various works to salute the fifth anniversary of the founding of the province, next year.
During the tour of these facilities, the Cuban First Vice President stressed how much they can contribute to the spiritual development of the people, both for its visual beauty and the services they provide, especially the theatre, the Juarez movie theatre and the Casa de la Música, music centre.
He noted progress in the latter, which claims to be the second largest of its kind in Cuba and will retain the original architectural structure.
There they will use the extensive patio area for concert groups and large dances, while the other side has a barbecue planned. The large portal area, they plan to use as an Album Café, where mainly Cuban music will be promoted.
For its part, the Juárez movie theatre will permit the presentation in the Artemisa capital of large-scale shows, which has so far been limited.
Accompanied by the main authorities of the territory, he toured what will be the boulevard of Artemis, a space with the privilege of having free WiFi and that in his opinion should become the hub of city life, which he conceived in a comprehensive manner, with benches, shaded areas and making the most of shops and other services.
It also verified the progress in the Hotel Campoamor, a flagship site for Artemisa, which is being restored.
Diaz-Canel also participated in the establishment of the Provincial Council of the Union of Computer Specialists of Cuba (UIC) in the territory, an organization that aims to contribute, from its professional ability, to the economic, social and cultural development.
