On the occasion of its 32nd anniversary, and as a result of its work, the quality of the teaching senate and the scientific-technological development reached, the Commandant Arides Estévez Sánchez Higher Military School has been awarded the Antonio Maceo Order pinned to the combat flag by the President of the Councils of State and Minister, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, after unveiling the replica of the image of the Titan of Bronze in the main entrance of the teaching institution.
During the military ceremony, the Division Chief for the Ministry of the Armed Revolutionary Forces (MINFAR) Major General Juan Pérez Gil read the Agreement No. 5375 of the Council of State that granted the Order following a proposal of the Minister for the Armed Revolutionary Forces, Army Corps General Leopoldo Cintra Frías.
By virtue of merits gained in the teaching education of officials in the legal profile, and on the upgrading and post-graduate, Pérez Gil highlighted some of the references of this institution, like the comprehensive training of the students, the increase in the teaching material and the updating of the teaching-educational process.
In the name of the youth, Captain Anamarys Fernández Urquijo, who graduated with a Gold Degree and who works at present as First Professor at the Psychology Chair, highlighted the pride and high responsibility that are present in being part of that staff, and the value of the teaching staff who has contributed to the upgrading of officials.
«We are sure that like those who didn´t hesitate to follow Céspedes in 1868, Martí in 1895 and Fidel in 1953, the current youth knows how to rise to the historic moment in which we live, » she said.
The main speech, by the Director of the institution, Major General Emilio Alfonso Hernández, paid homage to the founders and professionals of the school. And, he praised the sense of membership of the teaching faculty and students, and the creation of a new curriculum design that has advanced pedagogical concepts which emphasize the formation of convictions, attitudes and values, and the cultural education in the students.
The act was attended by high officials of the Armed Revolutionary Forces and the Ministry of the Interior, and a delegation of retired workers and founders of the higher teaching school.
