Diaz-Canel Meets with Russian Authorities

He arrived in Moscow en route to Beijing, heading the Cuban delegation that will participate in the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of victory over fascism

The First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, arrived in Moscow en route to Beijing.

During his stay he was received by Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Russian Federation; Dimitri Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister and co-chairman of the Russian-Cuban Intergovernmental Commission and by Ivan Mielnikov, First Vice President of the State Duma.

The exchanges, in the atmosphere of cordiality and mutual trust that now characterize the Cuban-Russian relations, allow assessing the current and prospective state of the same, and note the very positive moment of the links between the two States, framed in a high level of political dialogue and close cooperation in international organizations, and the realization of joint projects in key sectors that make up the Cuban-Russian bilateral economic agenda.

Accompanying the Cuban First Vice President were Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra Diaz and the Cuban ambassador in Moscow, Emilio Lozada Garcia.
